The provision of the origin on the packages of the products is a rather debated topic that appears confusing to many.
Is it always compulsory to indicate it? If not, when is it compulsory then? For which kinds of products?
Let’s start with the explanation of the first point: whether it is compulsory to indicate the origin of the products on the packs. Such matter is regulated on the European level and is summarized in two Regulations, i.e. Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 543/2011.
Despite some products available on Nuturally being actually exempt from the obligation concerning the indication of the origin, such as dried fruit, we decided, for transparency reasons, to always indicate the origin of the raw material which is contained in the products that can be purchased on the website.

It can be observed that several products may come from different regions, which are accurately provided in the specific product sheets. Such differences depend on the fact that we always strive to provide our consumers with the best products possible. By purchasing from different suppliers, we are able to guarantee our users the freshest products and also the necessary quantities to meet demand.
Some kinds of nuts, such as pecans, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts and cashews, as well as of dried fruit, for example mango, pineapple, dragon fruit, coconut, dates and banana, require specific climate conditions to grow and generally high temperatures to ripen in the best natural way. Apart from the exceptions in a few limited areas that cannot satisfy the demand, such conditions cannot be guaranteed in the European continent.
Despite these clear difficulties, today’s objective for Nuturally is to strongly encourage local companies. That’s why we started a project that focuses on the Italian supply chain and organized our Italian products in a devoted category (Italian Nuts and Dried Fruit).
We are committed to providing you every day with more and more products coming from controlled supply chains. This process is aimed at supporting local farmers and guaranteeing a higher number of controls on raw materials.
